Since the beginning of the Library Development Program we have been striving to gain as many allies as possible to be able to create a favorable climate towards the idea of the development of public libraries in the whole country. One of initiatives was the concept of a Regional Partnerships for Library Development. Such Partnerships have been established in all regions of Poland on the basis of tripartite aggreements between representatives of Polish regional goverments (provincial governors and marshals) and the Information Society of Development Foundation. They were assumed to be open to all institutions that are willing to participate in it.
